Now, if you probably haven't heard, the new Legend of Zelda game, Breath of the Wild, is due to be released early next year, hopefully. It has been pushed back a couple of times already, and the wait has been excruciating. But, judging by all the screenshots and trailers that have been posted online, it's clear to see that it is going to be one amazing game.

Is it weird that Link is standing next to Wolf Link? |
Judging on the video trailers, there will be a lot of new features in store for us. Features such as: paragliding and being able to ascend yourself with the use of some fire arrows, the ability to equip other weapons and use them against your enemies, summoning a pet wolf at will and the ability to free roam from the very get go. In other words, it looks like it's going to be a mix of Zelda and Skyrim. It will be an entirely open-world environment that will be chock full of monsters, caves to explore, mountains to climb and an amazing landscape to witness.
One interesting thought that is floating around is where exactly is going to fit within the timeline. As you may or may not know, there is a definitive timeline out there, published by Nintendo that chronologically lists all the current games by their correct setting and existence within the lore. The big feature of this timeline is the split that occurs within the game Ocarina of Time, where it splits into three different alternate realities. One where the hero wins and is sent back to his own time period leaving that reality without him, one where the hero loses and the villian wins, and one where the hero wins where he is then sent back in time and we continue to follow his quests. If this sounds at all confusing, please by all means look it up and experience it first hand. Anyway, because of this split, the game is bound to be set anywhere.
Personally, I believe the game will be set after the hero has lost. I follow this belief, because in one of the promotional trailers, it showed the Temple of Time, a church that housed the Master Sword. Only this depiction of the temple, was in ruins. If that is the case, then it would surely be set after the loss of the hero, where the villian prevailed and the survivors struggled to rebuild it. Just a thought, that's all.

Moving on though, the game was set to be released on the Wii U and has been accumulating massive amounts of hype, what with it's promotional videos and photos. But, it has now been pushed back onto the next console, the NX. It'll still be on the Wii U of course. Whilst most people are feeling a tad, frustrated with the long wait, it is important to understand something. Would you rather have a game published quickly with a lot of faults and bugs, or would you rather wait for a game to be finished at it's own pace and be close to perfection? In my opinion, I choose the latter option.
Breath of the Wild will be released next year. Release date has yet to be confirmed. Make sure to get ready for it by either purchasing a Wii U now, or waiting for the NX which is also going to be released next year.
I hope you enjoyed reading my post about the upcoming Zelda game. Stay tuned for more posts to come later on in the future, and don't forget to check out the next Super Smash Crash this Wednesday. I will be posting two matches of it, instead of just the one. One at 12pm and the other at 6pm, so be sure to check out who's fighting, and in what conditions. Till next time, take care and stay safe.
Davo. Out
