Rick and Morty: The Next Escapade

Welcome back!

The newest season of Rick and Morty is due to come out early next year. And I am eager to see how it will turn out. Just a quick warning, this post is sure to contain spoilers, so spoiler alert!

Rick and Morty is a comedy animation from the creators of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon ('Community') that is pure genius. It follows the adventures of the titular characters, Rick an elderly scientific genius, and Morty, he's dim-witted sidekick/grandson. There adventures span across the universe where they encounter strange cratures, unusual worlds and occasionally, parallel copies of theirselves from another dimension.

Time to get schwifty

The last time we saw these two, Rick had just been imprisoned in a maximum security prison, leaving behind his family. Which begs the question, what will happen in the season? Will Rick manage to escape from the prison? And if so, how? My guess is that he will. But on the how, it can be quite difficult to tell based on the many possibilities that the show can possess. Maybe the Council of Ricks may come along, and try to bail him out. Maybe his own family will try to save him somehow. And if they do, I really hope that they ask Mr. Meeseeks for help. Those guys are hilarious.

'Oooh, can do!'

The escape from prison will most likely occur in the first episode of course. But what about the other episodes? What's in store then? I do hope that the return of Mr. Meeseeks is one of them. The episode, 'Meeseeks and Destroy' was just terrific. But I do believe that there will be more episodes that relate to pop culture for Dan Harmon does tend to do this quite a bit in his other show, 'Community'. What these episodes will be about will be unknown, for a couple of episodes were about M. Night Shyamalan constant use of plot twists and a Jurassic Park inspired episode.

Time to bring on the hurt

All in all, I cannot wait till the next season. The show is pure comedy gold with hilarious characters, amazing dialogue and creative imagination. Keep in mind though, that just because it's an animated show, it's not intended for kids, which is why it is screened on Adult Swim.
